| 1958 | National Chiao Tung Univ. was re-established in Hsinchu, Taiwan. Institute of Electronics was founded. |
| 1964 | Department of Electronics Engineering was founded. Semiconductor Lab. was set up. |
| 1968 | Started the Ph.D. Program |
| 1976 | Executed special projects of the nation on electronics. Developed technologies of semiconductor devices and integrated circuit. |
| 1977 | Semiconductor Center was built. |
| 1981 | Set up the Semiconductor Instrument Center with the National Science Council. |
| 1986 | Doubled the scale of the undergraduate program. |
| 1990 | Started The Center of Semiconductor Education. |
| 1991 | Department of Electronics Engineering moved to the new building-The Engineer Building D. |
| 1992 | The annual research funding reached 100 million dollars. The most advanced clean room in Taiwan was established in NDL (National Nano Device Lab.) |
| 1994 | Celebrate the 30th anniversary of Department of Electronics Engineering. |
| 1998 | Celebrate the 40th anniversary of Institute of Electronics. |
| 2004 | Celebrate the 40th anniversary of Department of Electronics Engineering. |
| 2008 | Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Institute of Electronics. |
| 2014 | Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Department of Electronics Engineering. |
